Cardano’s Input Output Global (IOG) team, the group that develops and governs the blockchain, announced on Tuesday in its latest video progress report that the current “Vasil hard fork” update has been decided again.
We are currently running the latest tests and benchmarks. We are planning only one version of testnet. The update addresses some issues found by sharing group operators and developers [decentraliziranih aplikacij] dApps, internal investigators and others. The goal is to eliminate all the latest problems that will occur with Vasil’s hard fork. “We are focused on thorough testing to get it right and without haste,” said Kevin Hammond, CTO of IOG.
The IOG team hasn’t set a new date for the long-awaited live launch, other than saying it will take at least “more weeks”. Despite this setback, Cardano’s ADA coin has risen more than 9% in cryptocurrency exchanges hitting a price of $ 0.544 in the past 24 hours, according to CoinMarketCap.
This delay follows recent assurances that there will be no further delays
Just two weeks ago, Cardana investors expressed concerns over further delays in updating through various social media channels, which IOG has emphatically denied in multiple outlets at the time. The update that IOG appears to have released is an excessive step backwards and undermines the credibility that the development team doesn’t need in a freezing-speed rollout.
For context, IOG has identified Vasil’s improvement as the most significant Cardano blockchain development to date. This coding improvement should improve nearly every aspect of the network, including its scalability, efficiency, and performance.
Cardano’s Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus method validates blockchain transactions in a way that should require fewer energy resources, theoretically making it a better choice for climate protection than other proof-of-work (PoW) models. Some of the more popular crypto blockchains still use consensus PoW, including Ethereum, Bitcoin, and Dogecoin. However, long-term network testing may soon test the patience of ADA owners if the update isn’t rolled out soon.
